Monthly Kits and Much More

Comments: (1)
Thought I'd share a couple of layouts that were created with the November Kit#2. My favorite papers in this kit were the awesome Kaiser Craft and love the pearls too! Check it out. You'll love this one!

I just wanted to share that the new Design Team has been announced over at TS!

From Leslie's announcement post:

The moment you've all been waiting for!! You know this really just gets harder and harder every time. I really don't enjoy the decision making process...I'd love to have a DT of 20, but just can't!! The entries were beyond amazing and there were some who I would have like to have chosen but just didn't have enough spaces. I really agonized over narrowing it down. For those of you who weren't chosen...please don't take this as "not being good enough". There are just only so many spots and I tried to get a variety of styles and personalities to make this a "complete" team. I don't base my decision on talent alone, but on a mixture of styles, levels and personalities to have a diverse mix of DT members that will inspire a wide group of scrappers. I truly hope those who weren't chosen stick around the site because we love having you here. And before you know it the next call will be here so please apply again!

On to the announcement!!

The new Design Team is (in no particular order):

returning from the previous DT:
Lisa (justlisa)
Michelle L. (alysmom)
Julie (juliesaddiction)
Shirley (Shirley)
Tracey (TraceyT)

and our new DT members:
Laura (laurajean)
Abbie (AbbieT)
Debbie (debbiefitz)
Cherrie (floridagirl)
Cristal (pinky)

and.......another special announcement..... I have created a new DT position that I've been wanting to do for awhile and that is Instructor/Moderator who will be responsible for designing a new monthly project/technique kit and hosting online classes on the board and also helping me with admin upkeep of the store/board/gallery and that person is none other than our very own.....Erin Gudge!! I'm very excited about this - we still have the first project in the works but stay tuned for more details on this kit to be debuted sometime in December!! and another very special announcement.......

I would also like to announce that we had two runners-up in the DT call that I just did not have enough spaces for on this term's DT but I am thrilled to announce that they will both be honoring TS as Guest Designers for December. Yep!! Two Guest Designers for December!! These two GDTs will be: Aimee V. (aimee) Dawn (ScrapnnMO)

and last but not least, I am thrilled that Amanda will be continuing on in the position of Design Team Coordinator!! She does such an amazing job keeping everything on track and I'm so excited to have her continue for another term!!

Congratulations ladies!! I can't wait to work with all of you!! And thank you to everyone who took the time to submit your application. I know how much hard work everyone puts into them and how stressful the waiting process is. There were such a large group of applicants that would be a PERFECT fit with TS and I sincerely mean that but I only have so many spots. I truly hope you apply again for the next call!

and the Finalists for the Card Designer Position, from Leslie's post:

Yikes....I just can't make any more decisions this week - it's wearing me out people!! I'd like to announce the finalists for the Card Designer position and I apologize for making you wait all day!! I really had a hard time narrowing it down to 3 so I picked 4 finalists. All of the entries were amazing and I want to thank everyone who applied for sharing your work!! The four finalists will be receiving the December card kit in the mail and will need to create 4 cards with instructions from the kit contents. From these entries, I will choose our new Card Designer and their entries will become the final December card kit to be debuted Dec. 15! without further delay, the 4 finalists are (in no particular order):
Eva Dobilas (evafromca)
Ashley Harris (ashleyjane)
Renee Lamb (reneelamb)
Jill Cornell (cornellj)

Please send me your addies ladies so I can get your card kit out to you (hopefully mailed by the end of the week) and I will contact you with further instructions on your submissions with the kit. A big thank you to everyone who applied - what a talented group of cardmakers we have here!!!

I know that I'm excited to see who the new Card Designer will be. Everyone at TS is going to miss Sara's wonderful work, and the DT members who are leaving this term will be missed SO much!!!

If you haven't checked out the gallery lately, do it soon, because the November Kit reveals are AMAZING!!! Also, keep your eyes peeled for the information about the first Class Kit in December. I am sooooooooooooo excited about this opportunity with the store, and I'm going to put in extra effort to make sure that the class kits totally rock!
Well it's that time of year again! The current design team's term is coming to an end at the end of November. Waaaghh!! I just love these girls!!

Blue and red is a HOT colour combination and that is just what you'll find in kit # 2 this month. It is chalk full of gorgeous patterns by Cloud 9, Chatterbox, Dream Street and Urban Lily. Here is a sketch and layout that I made with this kit. Check the reveal gallery often over the next few weeks for plenty more inspiration from these amazing kits.

October 1st is a big day on the message board as well as in the gallery. All the new monthly challenges are posted and let me tell you, there is lots to get your mojo going if you need a lift. My challenge this month is to hand stitch a design on a layout or card. Here is my sample and be sure to check out the challenge forum for all the details on how you can get in on some great fun and prizes.

That's all for now. Thanks for stopping by.
Tracey

I literally used every bit of Kit #2 - I left nothing to waste. First, I have this layout that I created:

I tried a new technique (for me). I connected the 2 pieces of Bazzill by creating a laced up look. I think it added the perfect touch to all that yummy paper - don't you love Pink Paislee?Next-- I altered some mini manilla envelopes I had and they will be holding mini pictures of Alysons artwork she makes this year -- it will really cut down on the space and be able to keep all those art pieces -- oh I will be scanning them and printing them out small.

You can even create this same kind og "book" with lunch bags.

I hope this inspired you - I know I had so much fun creating it!
